Artist's Comments

Messing around with inks. It was fun doing this.
I'm pretty sure I'm going to throw in some colors too, I just haven't gotten enough time to do that yet.

Yes, moar skull headed deer. Skulls are my obsession. waargh.

This is gorgeous. I love the movement in your linework, and the skull-headed deer is wonderful. He has a beautiful and terrible quality to him that makes the piece something truly unique.

I mean terrible as in powerful and fell... terrifyingly beautiful.

 Just love the detail
Did you just do it straight with ink or did you have a basic sketch to follow?

First I have to say... what an amazing piece. Your linework blows me completely out of the water, and that tree is something that I don't think I'd ever be able to accomplish! You handle pen and ink quite beautifully! :)

And! I could not help but read in one of the above comments about your scanning process. I also hear that you have Photoshop CS3, so I feel that I may have a helpful tip for piecing together scans of larger pieces: Go to File, then Automate... under Automate, at the bottom of the menu, you'll see something that says "Photomerge..." You'll open that, and then hit "Browse" to select the different pieces of scanned image files. Then chose the "Perspective" option. (It's second one down on my computer) When finished, hit Okay, and Photoshop will do all the work for you!

Hope that works for you, it'll make it a LOT easier. And of course, if you have further questions on it, I should be able to answer them. :)
